Hello, Sam!<br /><br />I took a little artistic license for his shirt (I just prefer Sam in stripes!) and I didn't use the exact method that the original Sam was made with. This one still uses a ping-pong ball head but, instead of balsa wood, I used clay and wire. <br /><br />Watch out for nonce-kicking Gene, Sam! urn:lj:livejournal.com:atom1:recycledfunk:288 2007-01-24T03:11:13Z 2007-01-24T03:32:52Z <font size="3"><b>The My Little Wraith Pony Project</b></font><br /><br />Yeah, let's see how long I stick with this, shall we?<br /><br />Last month I was wandering lost and alone through <a href="http://www.deviantart.com">deviantART</a> trying to get a feel for the place, getting to know my neighbors before borrowing their sugar and hedge-clippers... I was amazed with not only the amount of talent but also with the amount of Stargate Atlantis fan-art that resides there. And some of it's good...REALLY good. <br /><br />One piece that inspired me was a wallpaper that an artist named <a href="http://http://leviiathan.deviantart.com/">leviiathan</a> had posted, <a href="http://http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26901274/">Wraith the Stargate Pony</a><br /><br />It got me thinking: "Boy, it would be fun if someone made that."<br /><br />Then I got bored and decided to try it myself!<br /><br />I found a poor, mauled G1 pony that no-one wanted in a local shop. Sure her mane was frizzed and mangled and she smelled like Grandma's. So what if some misguided child decided to see how much damage she (or more than likely <i>he) </i>could do with a bottle of acetone. She's got a rusty tail? Pish-pah! Permanent marker? Okay, that'll be a challenge... But still, I see the beauty in you, you sad and lonely pony! I know there is a wonder buried deep within you. <br /><br />It's just gonna take a month of work. And a good scrubbing. A dye-job. A complete rehairing. Oh, and don't forget a new paint-job. <br /><br />*sigh*<br /><br />You guessed it, it wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. And yes, I do have a much greater respect for those who do this pony-customizing all the time.
